***4 month update*****Let's just say... I'm pretty disappointed now. After trying to wear this as a backpack for awhile, I've gotten really frustrated with how long the straps are. The bag hangs all the way down on my lower back when the straps are adjusted to the tightest fit. I'm very petite. This might be okay for a more muscular girl, but it just doesn't work for me. When I'm grocery shopping, I'll turn around and it will knock things off the shelf because it's hanging so far off of me. It also swings off of my shoulders and I'm constantly having to put them back up on my shoulders. I contacted Lug to see if it was under warranty or to simply pass on my complaint, and I didn't even get a response. I emailed them again disappointed that they hadn't responded to me and again, no response. I got a new bag from a different brand.I can't believe I had never heard of Lug bags. They are MUCH higher quality than thirty-one, baggallini, and other leading nylon brands. They are comparable in quality to Kipling. I am OBSESSED with this bag. I'm a "stay-at-home" mom of just one almost 2 year old boy. I needed a hands free bag that was still stylish and could be converted into something a little more professional for my working days. This fits my wallet, keys, chapstick, hand sanitizer, lip gloss, lotion, phone, tablet, diaper/wipes pouch, medications/pads, and even a notebook & pens. There's also an insulated pocket for a drink cup or snack, but check the dimensions of it if it's a buying point for you - it fits my son's Contigo flip straw cup, but not the CamelBak straw cups. It would not be wide enough for a munchkin snack cup, but you can put a ziplock bag of fruit or something comparable in there. Would be PERFECT for a bag of cold breast milk. The short pocket that the backpack straps fit into is only a few inches deep and works well for my son's fabric busy book rolled up. Would hold an extra outfit, scarf, umbrella, or small rain jacket, etc perfectly. Extremely durable bag! I will buy a bigger Lug when I need a bag for 2 kids!I won't rate the bag down for this, because I still love it, but the bag does not sit up as high on your back as shown in photos, especially if you are a smaller person. I'm 5'4 123lbs and I can't adjust the straps any tighter. The bag falls at my middle to lower back. It is not necessarily uncomfortable, it just tends to swing into things behind me if I'm not careful or will fall off one shoulder when I'm turning fast. I wish you could adjust the length more or buy shorter straps. Also, the light gray color has a tan tint to it. It's very attractive and goes with everything, just might clash with other grays you wear.I really like this bag. I can carry quite a bit, but it's still a very slim bag. I don't feel like I'm carrying a huge back pack - and it's great as either a backpack or as a cross body - which are the ways that I like to carry things. The back pack straps are really too long for me. I don't need all of that length for the cross body mode, either. I am going to take it to my shoe maker and have her shorten the straps for me. My sewing machine can't sew through all of the layers on the straps, but her's can. She's done other things for me very reasonably, so I think that's a great option. I wish LUG would make more bags in the Peacock Teal color. It's so pretty and practical. This is my first Lug bag. I did a ton of research on the brand and picked this bag specifically because I love the crossbody style and this one offers tons of pockets to keep everything in its right place. The little zipper pocket on on the left front holds my AirPods. The rectangle zip pocket holds my small credit card/ ID wallet. The front right sports a built in cell phone pouch with magnetic closure. Fits my iPhone X with barely any room left. The long diagonal zipper pocket holds my keys. Above that is a magnetic closure pocket that holds my work ID badge. In the main compartment has my big wallet, my amazon fire 8 and some necessities in the clear built in pouch on the “wall of the purse”. The diagonal zipper pocket on the back holds all my chargers and cords...... see so much organization. And don’t forget the insulated water bottle/ food holder on the side of the purse that is built into the main compartment so it doesn’t add bulk to the side of the purse besides the zipper. I’m in love!!!I recently returned from a trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons where I used this bag as a cross body bag and a backpack. At first, it was a little clumsy to convert the bag to a backpack. I needed to unhook the straps at the top, take out the second set of straps (conveniently located in a back zipper pocket) and then place them on the back of the bag. But after two or three times, I became rather proficient at converting it back and forth. The designer really put a lot of thought into this bag. There is a place for everything! The front gusseted pocket held my camera. The pocket next to it held my sunglasses. It was very convenient to grab either of these items when I needed them. There are several exterior pockets for maps, brochures, etc. The interior had all sorts of room for my wallet, phone, tissues, etc. What is really ingenious is the zippered side pocket that can store a 16 oz water bottle and it's insulated! Most importantly, it is very well made and sturdy. This slim profile bag is well-designed with lots of nooks and crannies. It is lightweight and versatile with its convertible backpack option. I purchased the "peacock teal" color, which is sort of a spruce green. The foil-lined side zipper pocket could be used for a small water bottle or food snack. This bag would be perfect for a "shop 'til you drop" day trip or sightseeing tour, as it lies close to the body. I love this bag and am looking forward to using it.The pocket for the water bottle or whatever u keep inside is awesome! It takes away slightly from the inside of purse but is so worth it. The straps on a lug purse are perfect! This purse is my favorite and I have it in three colors! This is my first Lug purse (I have a weekender size piece of luggage), and I am not disappointed. I bought this crossbody because of it's versatility to go from an over the shoulder purse, to crossbody where it hangs nicely on your hip area ,to a backpack. This is a perfect size for everyday use, shopping excursion or a Week of Fun at Disney, which is what I needed it for. It has easy access pockets on the front for cell phone , sun glasses, keys, ect. Zipper pockets and open pockets front and back. The main center area has a zipper with another easy access pocket on the inside. All this and light weight. RFID gives peace of mind that your identity is safe. I LOVE this crossbody. Pretty design on outside as well as the inside.I was excited to get this bag and have the flexibility of being able to wear it cross body or as a backpack.First the good stuff: it fits quite a lot (I've included a picture of the contents I had in it one day) though with some care. I LOVE all the different pockets and like to keep only one or two items in each making things really easy to find. It's fairly easy to convert though and with some coordination it can be done on the move. It's attravtive and in crossbody mode is really comfortable. The not so good: as you can see in one photo, one if the side strap loops is coming away from the bag. I've not had it that long and it sees only light use so not impressed. Can't contact the seller so need to see what can be done. When you want to change the straps on purpose they can be difficult to unhook but a few times the strap has come loose itself, once leading to it ending up in the floor - not a great design; the straps need to be more secure. In backback mode the straps seem far apart so I kept feeling the bag was going to fall off my shoulders (I haven't got particularly narrow shoulders). In summary, some fantastic features but some design flaws too. For the price, a bit of a risk.Great purse, love that you can wear it as a crossbody, backpack or shoulder bag. You need a smaller wallet for the RFID pocket but I now have a lug splits 2 wallet that fits nicely.Insulated pocket comes in handy for a small bottle of water and a snack.I wish it had a bungee for keys but I put them in the front pocket.Lastly, the main compartment is slim, so not much room for extra items but the clear pocket makes it easy to find things.I bought one in peacock teal last year, did not appreciate the narrow gusset but I do like that it has multiple compartments and can be converted into a back pack.Last couple of months due to pandemic I started carrying a small squirt bottle of alcohol/Lysol with me. The insulated side pocket is perfect and if the liquid leaks it won’t soil the contents in my bag. Other Lug bags have outside bottle pockets but they are not discreet. I like the Monorail so much I bought the walnut brown too!UPDATE: Fabric is ripping on one of the front pockets. Notified Lug last week amd have yet to hear from them. Hoping they rectify this for me.I really love this bag. Has spots for all the little things you need (and dont need). The only thing I would change is to make the straps a tad smaller. Even pulled up the tightest, the bag hangs low for a short person like me. Not a deal breaker. Still love it as a backpack.I really the idea and look of this convertible backpack. It's the perfect size for both a purse and a small backpack. But the straps have suddenly unattached while I was wearing it, twice, once as a purse and once as a backpack. The metal attachment almost hit me in the face. There's lots of compartments, which is usually great, but it also makes a jingling sound when you are walking as the zippers are hitting each other. The side pocket is perfect for a small kids cup. And I love the clear zippered pouch inside.
